PREFACE

Preface

The Slot-Die Coating process for perovskite solar cells is a key technology for efficient, scalable film fabrication. Key links are closely linked, directly affecting film uniformity, crystal quality, and final device performance.

Below are the main key steps of this process, organized in sequence and divided into three steps (slit coating + VCD vacuum solvent extraction + heated annealing process):

Lecture 1: Slit Coating

2026· INVITATION

1

Coating gap parameters

Coating gap: This also distinguishes between one-step perovskite functional layers and two-step functional layers. For one-step coating films, the height gap between the lip of the die tip and the substrate is generally 100μm. For two-step methods, since the functional film is thinner, it is recommended to switch to about 70μm;

2

Thickness of the coating die head gasket

Coating die head gasket: also distinguish between one-step perovskite functional layers and two-step functional layers. One-step gasket thickness is recommended at 100um, two-step at 30um or 50um;

3

Corrosion-resistant material selection for coating die heads

Coating die material: Considering the strong corrosiveness of perovskite solution, it is best to use SUS316L corrosion-resistant stainless steel to ensure the die head is not corroded;

4

Automatic die head height adjustment precision configuration

Die head height adjustment: It is recommended to use a contact micrometer probe for detection and automatic height adjustment. The adjustment accuracy can be controlled within 2μm. Generally, imported servo motors provide excellent stability and accuracy assurance, and Siemens servo motors can be used.

5

Accuracy and selection of horizontal drive systems

Horizontal drive: Generally uses magnetically controlled linear motors, which provide excellent accuracy and stability during horizontal operation. HIWIN linear motors are generally recommended;

6

Coating platform precision and material requirements

Coating platform: requires granite and marble material with grinding accuracy of 000 grades, ensuring 3um level flatness to provide flatness for nanometer-level functional films.
