On April 16-17, 2025, the 7th Perovskite and Tandem Cell Technology Forum was held in Changzhou, Jiangsu. Cui Chengnan, Sales Director of Honest Intelligent Technology, delivered a keynote report titled "High-Precision Tandem Coating Technology Required for Perovskite Photovoltaics," sharing breakthroughs in tandem coating technology and attracting widespread industry attention.



Laminated coating technology: process routes and core challenges



Cui Chengnan pointed out that current perovskite tandem coating faces complex challenges in the process route. In terms of material mix, there are multiple technical routes such as perovskite/PERC and perovskite/TOPCon, as well as exploration of all-perovskite cells. The coating methods are mainly divided into one-step and two-step methods: the one-step method achieves efficient film formation through wet slit coating, but the annealing time can be as long as 20 minutes; The two-step method combined with vacuum evaporation and coating is better suited for large suede preservation needs, but requires precise balance between solvent evaporation and reaction completeness.

Technical challenges focus on three aspects: First, wet coating on large velvet surfaces easily causes solution accumulation, seriously affecting bottom cell conversion efficiency; Second, equipment precision requirements must be extremely high, with wafer cutting tolerances, coating platform flatness, guide rail accuracy, and other overlapping errors that must be strictly controlled; Third, there are obvious bottlenecks in process efficiency: the long annealing time of the one-step method and the complexity of the two-step process restrict the industrialization process.



Innovative breakthroughs: collaborative optimization of processes and equipment



To address these challenges, Honest Intelligent Technology has proposed a dual-driven solution combining process and equipment. For process optimization, it is recommended to use large suede combined with a finishing layer to significantly improve wetting and shape retention; Introducing slow-drying solvents in the two-step method reduces the risk of die head crystallization and simplifies process complexity; It is recommended to keep the wafer thickness between 150-180μm to balance cost and yield.

Major breakthroughs in equipment technology: using an integrated Class 000 grinding marble platform to ensure the flatness and temperature stability of the coating base; Integrates intelligent functions such as automatic positioning, foreign object detection, and waste liquid recovery, greatly improving production cycle and yield; Core components such as dual magnetically controlled linear motors and non-contact air flotation guides have been upgraded, keeping coating precision within ±0.1mm, reaching industry-leading levels.



Deep industry cultivation: technical strength and market layout



Since its establishment in 2016, Honest Intelligent Technology has focused on the research and development of perovskite coating equipment, becoming one of the first domestic companies to achieve mass production of perovskite slit coating equipment. The company's clients include leading enterprises such as research institutes under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Jidian Optoelectronics, and GCL Optoelectronics, and exports to international markets including the United States and Japan.

The company has built a comprehensive product matrix: experimental equipment supports customized substrates from 100 to 300mm to meet research needs; 600×1200mm mass-produced coating machines achieve fully automated loading, unloading, and online monitoring; Flexible perovskite modules prepared by roll-to-roll coating equipment reach an efficiency of 17.75%, strongly promoting the industrialization of flexible photovoltaics.
